Agriculture and Forestry University, Rampur, Chitwan, Nepal, has published a notice to inform that the deadline for submitting Online applications for the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Forestry program has been extended. This program is offered in the faculties, constituent colleges, and affiliated private colleges under the Agriculture and Forestry University for the academic session 2082/083.

Agriculture and Forestry University, Dean's Office, Rampur, Chitwan, Nepal, invites prospective students to apply for the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Forestry program for the academic year 2082/083. Eligible candidates who meet the minimum educational criteria are encouraged to submit their applications.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must have completed the SLC/SEE or an equivalent qualification, with studies in ISc (Science), 10+2 (Science), or a Technical Certificate level in Forestry/ Animal Science/ Plant Science, achieving at least 50% in aggregate or securing a minimum of a 'C' grade in each subject and an overall 'C+' grade. For subjects with both theory and practical components, a minimum 'C' grade is required in each or an overall 'C' grade in the combined components. Applicants who do not meet these criteria will be disqualified and excluded from the entrance examination.

Students awaiting the grade increment exam or whose results are pending may participate in the entrance exam and admission process. However, if they fail to meet the minimum qualifications once results are released, they will not be admitted. 

Entrance Examination Syllabus

The entrance exam will consist of multiple-choice questions covering the following subjects from the 10+2 curriculum:

There will be 120 questions, with a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Admission Criteria

The entrance exam will account for 100% of the admission score, with a minimum passing score of 50%. A merit list will be compiled based on these scores. In the event of a tie, rankings will be determined by the 10+2 CGPA, SEE/SLC scores, and subject-wise scores in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Required Documents

  • Three passport-sized photographs.
  • Original citizenship certificate.
  • Original SEE/SLC transcript and character certificate.
  • Original 10+2 or equivalent transcript and character certificate.
  • Equivalence certificate (for applicants who completed SEE/SLC or equivalent outside Nepal).
  • Original recommendation letter for reserved category admissions.
  • Original entrance exam admit card.

Key Notes

  • The Counselling procedure for student admission will follow the 2082 B.S. system. After the publication of the entrance exam results, admission will begin on Ashoj 27, 2082 B.S., based on the merit list and according to the counselling schedule.
  • If less than 50% of the total seats are filled in a constituent college under the Faculty of Agriculture, those students will be transferred and provided with education at other constituent colleges based on the merit determined by the faculty.
  • After the admissions are completed at the relevant affiliated colleges, the students on the merit list provided by the faculty must be admitted by obtaining a Letter of Intent (LOI) from them, based on their merit.
  • All rights related to admission will be vested in this committee.
  • Due to the limited capacity of the hostels, the university administration will not be obligated to arrange for housing for admitted students.

Admission Slots Reserved for Student Based on Quota

The following quotas are available for admission: Provincial, Female, Dalit, Indigenous, Madhesi, Martyr Family, Conflict-Affected, Disabled, Staff, Local, and Nepal Government Staff.

Provincial Quota:

Applicants must hold citizenship from the respective province and have completed SEE/SLC from a fully government-funded community school. A recommendation letter from the District Education Coordination Committee confirming the school's status is required, and the original letter must be presented during admission. Failure to provide this will result in disqualification.

Other Quota:

Applicants must submit relevant certificates or recommendation letters during the application process.

  • Dalit Quota: Recommendation from the National Dalit Commission or Local Authority.
  • Indigenous Quota: Recommendation from the Federation of Indigenous Nationalities or Local Authority.
  • Madhesi Quota: Recommendation from the District Administration Office or Local Authority.
  • Conflict-Affected Family Quota: Relationship verification (spouse, son, or daughter) from the District Administration Office or relevant ministry.
  • Martyr Family Quota: Relationship verification (spouse, son, or daughter) from the District Administration Office or relevant ministry.
  • Disabled Quota: Recommendation from the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens or Local Authority.
  • Staff Quota: Relationship verification (spouse, son, or daughter), citizenship certificate, and a recommendation from the Faculty. Admission is merit-based within this quota, limited to two candidates. Benefits already received from another faculty will be accounted for.
  • Local Quota: Recommendation from Bharatpur Metropolitan City, where the Faculty is located.

Selection for the Disability Quota will consider both the category of disability and merit.

Admissions for the BSc. in Forestry program will be carried out based on the distribution of reserved quotas.
