Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD) under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has issued a notice confirming that the prohibition to hiring temporary or contract employees in federal, provincial, and local bodies for positions beyond the approved organizational structure will be not be applied for teachers.
The press release (dated on 2082/6/7) of the Ministry of Finance regarding the reduction of unproductive expenditure and maintaining austerity, point (h) of the organizational structure reform under point no. (5) states that temporary and contract employees will not be allowed to be hired in the Government of Nepal, provinces and local levels except for approved posts.
Since many local levels and schools have inquired about the status of contract teachers under this rule, the new notice from CEHRD confirms that this prohibition does not apply to teachers.
