Kathmandu, Nepal – The Education and Human Resource Development Center (CEHRD) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming academic session 2083. Following a recent decision by the Council of Ministers, the new school year is set to begin on Baisakh 15, 2083.
In a circular issued to all local levels and schools, the CEHRD has also integrated the government’s new policy of a two-day weekend (Saturday and Sunday) for all educational institutions. This change requires schools to restructure their annual calendars and instructional plans to ensure curriculum requirements are met within the new five-day work week.
Key Dates to Remember:
- Baisakh 2, 2083: Commencement of administrative and creative preparations, including teacher training and school improvement planning.
- Baisakh 15, 2083: Official start of the Student Admission Campaign.
- Baisakh 21, 2083: Formal start of regular classroom teaching and learning activities.
Directive for Schools: The CEHRD has instructed schools to utilize the period starting from Baisakh 2 for promotional activities, formulating annual work plans, and enhancing teacher professional development. The center emphasizes that the focus for the upcoming year should remain on improving student learning outcomes and updating School Improvement Plans (SIP).
This adjustment comes as part of the government's effort to standardize the academic calendar while aligning with new administrative holiday policies. Schools are advised to coordinate with their respective local levels for smooth implementation.
