Pokhara University Confers Degrees to 6,622 Graduates at 21st Convocation

A total of 6,622 students were awarded degrees during the 21st Convocation Ceremony of Pokhara University held today.

According to the university, the Faculty of Management produced the highest number of graduates with 3,625 students, followed by 2,506 graduates from the Faculty of Science and Technology. Likewise, 365 students completed their studies under Health Sciences, while 126 graduates were conferred degrees from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, who is also the Chancellor of the University, highlighted the importance of aligning university education with practical skills, innovation, and national economic needs. She stressed that academic programs must focus on producing competent and ethical human resources capable of competing in both national and global markets.

The Prime Minister also expressed concern over the growing trend of youth migrating abroad immediately after graduation and urged universities to adapt curricula to emerging technologies and entrepreneurship to retain talent within the country.

Established with a focus on expanding access to higher education, Pokhara University has continued to contribute significantly to human resource development in sectors such as management, science, technology, and health. The large number of graduates this year reflects the university’s expanding academic reach and its role in Nepal’s higher education landscape.
