Eleven students from Kalika Manavgyan Secondary School, a community school in Butwal, have succeeded in securing their names for a full scholarship in MBBS. School Principal Dipak Thapa informed that the 11 students who passed Class 12 this year have successfully secured full scholarships for MBBS. According to the school, a total of 42 students this year have received scholarships for various Bachelor's degree programs provided by the Government of Nepal.
Principal Thapaliya further informed that 11 students in MBBS, 23 in B. Pharma, 2 in BSc. Nursing, 2 in B.V.Sc., 1 in B. Tech., and 1 in BBA secured full scholarships. According to Principal Thapa, this excellent result was made possible by the cooperation of the teachers, students, and guardians at Kalika Manavgyan Secondary School. Kalika Manavgyan Secondary School has more than eight thousand students studying, which is the highest in the country. He further said that the scholarships provided by the Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City for the students at school encouraged them to secure scholarships for higher education.
Khelraj Pandey, the Chief of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, said that the scholarship campaign aimed to make the process of distributing the 10 percent scholarship provided by private educational institutions transparent and accessible to the target group, ensuring that no student in Butwal is deprived.
Deputy Chief of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, Savitradevi Aryal, said that she stressed the need for transparency in scholarship distribution so that the quality of education in Butwal's educational institutions is recognized, and people come to Butwal from all over the district, emphasizing that very few people should be deprived of getting a timely education.
Yadav Chandra Bista, an officer of the Education Branch of the Sub-Metropolitan City, informed that 339 students from 13 private educational institutions under Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City were pursuing higher education on scholarships last year.
