The University Grants Commission (UGC), Nepal, has invited proposals and applications from higher education institutions/campuses to receive annual budget support and quality improvement grants for the implementation of the programs outlined in its current curriculum and work schedule. The notice inviting education institutions to apply for a wide range of grants aims to boost the quality and scope of higher education nationwide.

The deadline for proposal submission is Mangsir 14, 2082. Proposals received after this date will not be accepted. Detailed programs and application processes are available on the Commission's website at www.ugcnepal.edu.np

The University Grants Commission is currently accepting applications and proposals for a range of research grants and assistance from higher education institutions, educators, and students for the current year.

The deadline for the submission of the application form is Kartik 30, 2081 (November 15, 2024). 

Scholarship Information

Institutional Development - Grants for Affiliated Community CampusesDeadline for Submission of applicatiom
aRegular Grant
  • For regular grants, campuses must fill the online data compulsorily at ugo.nitc.gov.np:81 before registering the application. The new campuses can get the username and password for filling the online data from the grant determination branch of the commission. When the campus fills the online data, the account number of the National Commercial Bank of the campus, the address of the branch, the contact number of the campus head. And campus email address must be filled.
  • In order to receive regular subsidy, the minimum number of students should be 50 in the Himalayan district, 75 in the hilly district, 100 in the inner Madhesh district, 125 in the Terai district and 150 in the Kathmandu Valley
  • For Bagmati and Gandaki provinces on Kartik 25, 2081 within office hours.
  • For Koshi, Madhesh and Lumbini provinces on Kartik 28, 2081 within office hours.
  • For Karnali and Sudurpaschim Province on Kartik 30, 2081 within office hours

Physical Facility Development Grant

  • The minimum number of students for the building construction grant should be 60 in the Himalayan district, 100 in the mountainous/inner Madhesh district, 125 in the Terai district and 150 in the Kathmandu Valley.
  • In a maximum of 2 titles based on preference by the campus can apply.
  • Campuses that have not previously received grants under this title under the structure development grant for extracurricular activities can submit proposals.
cSpecial GrantCompleted two years of formal education and regular community campuses that have not received grants may apply. The minimum number of students for special grants should be 60 in the Himalayan district, 75 in the hilly district, 100 in the inner Madhesh district, 125 in the Terai district and 150 in the Kathmandu Valley

  • The documents to be submitted along with the application are given in the Schedule of the Commission's Program Period, 2081.
  • In case of research applications, more information can be obtained from Research Development and Innovation Programs Implementation Guidelines 2021.
  • More information can be obtained from NEHEP-Standards, Operational Policies and Guidelines for Collaborative Research and Entrepreneurship Programs in the case of applications related to entrepreneurship support programs.
