The Industrial Enterprise Development Institute (IEDI), founded in 1996 under the Industrial Enterprise Development Institute Act 1996, operates as an autonomous institution committed to cultivating human and knowledge resources for entrepreneurship and business advancement in Nepal. Through various impactful tools such as training, research, consultancy, enterprise education, and management development programs, its mission is to foster growth in the entrepreneurial landscape.

Since its establishment, IEDI has directed its efforts toward intermediary organizations, as well as prospective and established entrepreneurs. In response to Nepal's evolving political and socio-economic dynamics, IEDI endeavors to adapt its services to meet the diverse needs of organizations and individuals engaged in enterprise development.

In pursuit of sustainability and resilience amidst the challenges inherent in entrepreneurship and business growth in Nepal, IEDI is dedicated to providing high-quality services to a broad spectrum of organizations involved in enterprise development. To achieve this goal, the institute conducts research and development, tests, and disseminates best practices in business development services tailored to the requirements of various groups and communities within Nepal and beyond.

Objectives of IEDI

• To support organisations, institutions, industries and enterprises through need-based services such as training, entrepreneurship and management development, feasibility studies, consultancy and training of trainers;
• To provide quality support services for industry/enterprise development;
• To carry out need-based action research in providing quality services for enterprise promotion and development;
• To conduct need-based programmes in developing technical, entrepreneurial and management related know-how and skills;
• To carry out research and development related activities, and
• To establish and develop projects and organisations for enterprise development.
