The Government of Nepal, through the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, has announced vacancies at the National Investigation Department in Bhadrakali, Kathmandu. These positions are for Research Officer (equivalent to Gazetted Third Class) and Research Assistant (equivalent to Gazetted Second Class).
Applications are invited from interested Nepali citizens who meet the minimum qualifications listed below. Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be processed. - Application fee:
- Research Officer candidates must pay a fee of NRs. 1,200 for one group. An additional fee of NRs. 400 will be charged for each additional group. Candidates applying only for inclusive groups must pay a minimum of NRs. 1,200.
- Research Assistant candidates must pay a fee of NRs. 500 for one group. An additional fee of NRs. 150 will be charged for each additional group. Candidates applying only for inclusive groups must pay a minimum of NRs. 500.
- Exam Center
- For applicants applying for Research Officer: Public Service Commission office in Kathmandu
- Exam Center for Applicants applying for Research Assistant: Any Feasible Public Service Commission offices as their exam center: Dhankuta, Jaleshwor, Hetauda, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Surkhet, and Mahendranagar. The written exam will be conducted at the designated exam centers set by the commission.
The examination fee can be paid through the online systems: e-Sewa, Connect IPS, Khalti, and offline payment options. You must generate a voucher and pay at any branch of Rastriya Banijya Bank.
Application Process:
- Log in to the department's website at https://rabvac.nidept.gov.np, and fill out the online application form with your personal details and required documents. After the information is verified, a roll number will be assigned. An announcement will be made on the department's website regarding this. Subsequently, you can log in with your ID and Password to the online system and print your admit card.
Eligibility Requirements
Education Qualifications:
- For Research Officer: Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university. If the degree is from a foreign institution, a certificate of equivalence from a recognized body is required.
- For Research Assistant: Must have a Proficiency Certificate Level or equivalent from a recognized university or educational institution. If the degree is from a foreign institution, a certificate of equivalence from a Nepal Government body is required. For the Secondary Level Certificate Examination certificate issued before 2078/9/7, a minimum 'D' grade and a Cumulative Grade Point Average (C.G.P.A.) of 1.6 in all theoretical and practical subjects of classes 11 and 12 are required.
Age Requirements:
- For Research Officer: As of 1st Baisakh of the year of selection, the age of men should be 21 years and not more than 25 years (born between 2057/01/01 and 2061/01/01), and women should be 21 years and not more than 30 years (born between 2052/01/01 and 2061/01/01). In the case of employees of the National Investigation Department, the age should not be more than 35 years (born between 2047/01/01 and 2061/01/01).
- For Research Assistant: As of 1st Baisakh of the year of selection, the age of men should be 18 years and not more than 25 years (born between 2057/01/01 and 2064/01/01), and women should be 18 years and not more than 30 years (born between 2052/01/01 and 2064/01/01). In the case of employees of the National Investigation Department, the age should not be more than 35 years (born between 2047/01/01 and 2064/01/01).
